Spitwater’s Drain Jetters

Spitwater, Australia’s largest manufacturer of pressure cleaners, has introduced a brand new family of industrial drain clearing jetters that offer a combination of higher pressure and water flow to give plumbers the most efficient range of drain clearing machines on the market.

“Our new ‘Wombats’ absolutely eat roots…,” boasts Milo Gajin, Manager of Spitwater NSW.  Purpose-designed from the ground up, this totally new range of drain cleaners from Spitwater offer three distinctly different models:

  • Ultra high flow Model HP2430AE offers 3500 psi (240 Bar) pressure with flow of 30 Litres per minute – an ideal machine for flushing larger drains
  • High pressure and high flow Model HP2725AE offers 4000 psi (275 Bar) pressure with flow of 25 Litres per minute – a real compromise machine where both higher pressure and higher flow are required and
  • Ultra high pressure Model HP3523AE offers a massive 5000 psi (350 Bar) pressure with a very high flow of 23 Litres per minute – the highest on the market.

The heart of these new machines are an entirely new Interpump manufactured, range of high pressure, positive displacement pumps that feature solid brass heads, ceramic pistons and enhanced valves and seals.  Italian company Interpump is the largest manufacturer of high pressure pumps in the world whilst at the same time being a leader in innovation and design of new pumps.

Power to drive the pump is provided by the genuine Honda, petrol powered V-Twin engines.  Spitwater enjoys a preferred OEM status with Honda Australia and as such is able to offer additional benefits to its customers, such as engine matching and an unprecedented two-year warranty on all its engines.

Like with all industrial rated Spitwater petrol and Diesel powered machines, ‘The Wombats’ feature a more flexible, less expensive and a much simpler to maintain ‘Oz-Tuff’ belt drive to transmit reliable, raw Honda power to the tough, high performing Interpump pump.

“At full throttle, petrol engines operate at around 3600 rpm whilst industrial high pressure pumps operate between 1000 and 1450 rpm, hence a need for a reduction drive,” says Milo Gajin.  Industrial high pressure pumps operate at slower speed for better overall performance, higher level of reliability and longer life.

All Spitwater ‘Wombats’ feature a heavy duty unloader valve and some have an additional safety valve for added protection.  Components of Spitwater ‘Wombats’ are mounted on a specially designed base frame and are enclosed in a full rollover frame with a lift hook.  All steel components of the machine are Zinc-annealed and powder coated, giving the machine a truly well finished appearance.  Entire package is mounted on four large diameter pneumatic wheels to ensure ease of manoeuvrability over rough terrain, particularly from one drain inspection point to another.  For those plumbers who prefer to have machines mounted on their vehicles, an optional vehicle mounting package is available at extra cost.

In order to ‘fine-tune’ the machine to each end user’s need, a number of different optional accessories are offered.  “Generally, drain inspection points are approximately 50 m apart,” concluded Milo Gajin. “To assist end users in finding the blockage and clearing it, we offer a number of hose and reel options as well as different nozzle types and root cutters.”
